Privacy Policy

AstroForge is a lightweight timing-interpretation service. This policy explains, in plain language, what information you may provide, how it is used, and what is (and isn't) stored.

Last updated: June 2026

Overview

AstroForge provides timing interpretation and decision-support information. You do not need to create an account or become a member to use it. We aim to keep the service lightweight and to collect only what is needed to generate your report and to operate the website.

Information You Provide

To generate a report or interpretation, you may provide:

  • Birth information — your birth date, birth time (or an indication that it is approximate/unknown), and birth place (city or country).
  • Situation and context information — the area of life you want to focus on, your current situation, your main concern, the direction you lean toward, and any optional free-text note you choose to add.

This information is used only to generate the AstroForge timing report or interpretation you request, during that session.

How Your Report Information Is Handled

  • Free Life Timing Report: this is produced by a deterministic calculation engine. Your birth details are processed to build the report and are kept in your own browser (session storage) so you do not have to re-type them — they are cleared when you close the browser tab. They are not saved to our database.
  • Personal Insight & Follow-up questions (paid): your birth and situation/context information is sent to our AI interpretation provider (OpenAI) to generate the reading. This runs in temporary server memory; the result is returned to your browser and the temporary processing job is automatically discarded a short time afterwards (within roughly ten minutes). The birth/context inputs and the generated interpretation are not written to our database.

No Accounts, No Persistent Profiles

AstroForge does not require a login or membership, and we do not intentionally build persistent personal profiles from the birth or situation information used to generate reports.

Information We Do Store

To run the service responsibly, some limited information is stored:

  • Payment records. When you purchase a report, we store a transaction record — an order/session identifier, the package purchased, amount, currency, payment status, any coupon used, timestamps, and the number of AI interpretations used. These records do not contain your birth details, situation/context information, or report content. Card details are handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not see or store your full card information.
  • Optional feedback. If you choose to leave feedback, we store your rating and any comment you write, along with a randomly generated anonymous identifier, a general country value, the type of report, referral/campaign parameters, and precision labels (for example, whether your birth time was exact or approximate) — not your actual birth date, time, or place.
  • Technical and security logs. To keep the service available and to prevent abuse, our systems may record limited technical information such as IP address, timestamps, and rate-limit/abuse events.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, and PostHog to understand website traffic, measure our marketing, and improve the product. These tools use cookies and similar technologies and may collect usage and marketing information such as pages viewed, device and browser details, approximate location, referral source, and interactions with the site, associated with cookie or advertising identifiers. PostHog may also record session replays (playback of anonymized on-page interactions such as clicks, navigation, and scrolling) to help us diagnose usability issues.

Your choice controls this tracking. On your first visit we show a small consent banner. Until you choose "Allow analytics", non-essential analytics and marketing storage is denied by default: Google Analytics runs in a consent-denied mode that does not store analytics or advertising identifiers, and the Meta Pixel and PostHog (including session replay) are not loaded or started. If you choose "Allow analytics", these tools operate normally. If you choose "Decline", they remain restricted — and if you later switch from Allow to Decline, PostHog capturing and session replay are stopped.

Your choice is stored only in your own browser (in localStorage under the keyastroforge_consent, as either allowed or declined) so the banner does not reappear on every visit. It persists until you change it or clear your browser storage. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

Google, Meta, and PostHog process any information collected under their own privacy practices. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings and ad personalization through Google's and Meta's ad settings.

Third-Party Services

The following third parties may receive or process information as part of running AstroForge:

  • OpenAI — receives your birth and situation/context information to generate paid Personal Insight and Follow-up interpretations.
  • Stripe — processes payments and handles your card information.
  • Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, and PostHog — website and marketing analytics, and (PostHog) product analytics and session replay.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — host and serve the website.

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy and terms.

Data Retention

Report inputs and outputs (birth and situation/context information and the generated interpretation) are not retained in our database across sessions, as described above. Payment records, optional feedback, and technical and security logs are retained for as long as reasonably needed for operational, accounting, legal, and anti-abuse purposes.

Your Choices

Because no account is required, most information you enter for a report stays in your own browser for that session. You can clear it at any time by closing the tab or clearing your browser storage, and you can manage cookies and analytics through your browser and the providers' ad settings.

Children

AstroForge is intended for adults and is not directed at children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
